An ultra-moist Southern pound cake packed with buttery flavor and classic dense texture.
Ingredients
1 cup unsalted butter softened
2 1/2 cups granulated sugar
5 large eggs
3 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup whole milk
1 tbsp vanilla extract
1 tsp butter extract optional
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 163°C
2. Cream butter and sugar together
3. Add eggs one at a time
4. Whisk flour baking powder and salt
5. Alternate dry ingredients and milk into batter
6. Add vanilla and butter extract
7. Pour batter into prepared pan
8. Bake 75-85 minutes
9. Cool before glazing or slicing
