Description
Soft and chewy peanut butter bars topped with melty milk chocolate and packed with nostalgic peanut butter blossom flavor in every bite. These easy dessert bars have a rich peanut butter base and a smooth chocolate topping.
Ingredients
1/2 cup (113 g) unsalted butter, softened
1 cup (250 g) creamy peanut butter
3/4 cup (150 g) packed brown sugar
1/4 cup (50 g) granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1½ cups (190 g) all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1½ cups (255 g) milk chocolate chips
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13-inch (23×33 cm) baking pan with parchment paper.
2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter, peanut butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
4. Add the flour, baking powder, and salt, mixing just until combined.
5. Spread the dough evenly into the prepared baking pan.
6. Bake for 22-25 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden and the center is set.
7. Immediately sprinkle the milk chocolate chips evenly over the warm bars.
8. Allow the chocolate to sit for 3-5 minutes until melted, then spread into an even layer.
9. Cool completely in the pan before slicing into bars.
Notes
Do not overbake to keep the bars soft and chewy.
Creamy or crunchy peanut butter both work well.
For cleaner slices, chill the bars for 30 minutes before cutting.
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days or refrigerate for up to 1 week.
