Description
Bakery-style orange vanilla buttermilk muffins with tall golden tops and bright citrus flavor. Ready in 30 minutes.
Ingredients
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
Zest of 2 oranges
2 large eggs
1 cup buttermilk
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 tablespoons fresh orange juice
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 400ยฐF and prepare muffin tin.
2. Whisk together dry ingredients and rub zest into sugar.
3. Whisk wet ingredients separately.
4. Combine wet and dry ingredients gently.
5. Fill muffin cups 3/4 full.
6. Bake 18โ22 minutes until golden.
7. Cool slightly before serving.
Notes
Do not overmix.
Start at high heat for tall tops.
Use fresh orange zest for best flavor.
