Description

These orange cottage cheese scones are soft, tender, and lightly sweet with fresh citrus flavor and a gentle protein boost.


Ingredients

Scale

2 cups all-purpose flour

2 teaspoons baking powder

¼ teaspoon baking soda

¼ teaspoon salt

⅓ cup granulated sugar

Zest of 1 orange

½ cup cottage cheese

¼ cup cold unsalted butter, cubed

1 large egg

¼ cup fresh orange juice

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Optional Glaze:

½ cup powdered sugar

12 tablespoons orange juice


Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).

2. Mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, sugar, and orange zest.

3. Cut cold butter into dry ingredients.

4. Whisk cottage cheese, egg, orange juice, and vanilla.

5. Combine wet and dry ingredients gently.

6. Shape dough and cut into wedges.

7. Bake 15–18 minutes until lightly golden.

8. Drizzle with glaze if desired.

Notes

Do not overmix.

Best served warm.
