Description
Soft and chewy Scotcharoos topped with a rich chocolate and butterscotch layer. An easy no-bake dessert everyone loves.
Ingredients
6 cups crispy rice cereal
1 cup creamy peanut butter
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup light corn syrup
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 cup butterscotch chips
Instructions
1. Prepare a 9×13-inch pan with parchment paper.
2. Heat sugar and corn syrup until sugar dissolves.
3. Remove from heat and stir in peanut butter, vanilla, and salt.
4. Mix peanut butter mixture with cereal.
5. Press into prepared pan gently.
6. Melt chocolate and butterscotch chips together.
7. Spread topping evenly over base.
8. Let set, then slice and serve.
Notes
Do not boil the sugar mixture.
Press mixture gently to keep bars soft.
Chill briefly for clean slicing.
