Description
Rich, fudgy double chocolate whiskey cake topped with silky whiskey ganache. A bold, adults-only dessert.
Ingredients
1½ cups milk chocolate chips
1¾ cups all-purpose flour
¾ cup Dutch-processed cocoa powder
1½ tsp kosher salt
½ tsp baking soda
5 large eggs
1¾ cups granulated sugar
¾ cup vegetable oil
½ cup water
½ cup whiskey
2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips (ganache)
3 tbsp heavy cream
2 tbsp whiskey
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 325°F and prepare pan.
2. Melt milk chocolate chips.
3. Whisk dry ingredients together.
4. Beat eggs and sugar until pale.
5. Mix in oil, water, whiskey, and melted chocolate.
6. Fold in dry ingredients.
7. Bake 55–65 minutes until fudgy crumbs remain.
8. Cool completely.
9. Prepare ganache and pour over cake.
Notes
Use Dutch-processed cocoa.
Do not overbake.
