Ingredients

1 1/2 cups dates, pitted and chopped

1 cup hot brewed coffee

1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup granulated sugar

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

3/4 cup chopped walnuts


Instructions

1. Soak chopped dates in hot coffee for 15 minutes.

2. Preheat oven to 350°F and prepare a loaf pan.

3. Whisk flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.

4. Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

5. Add eggs one at a time and mix in vanilla.

6. Stir in date-coffee mixture.

7. Fold in dry ingredients and walnuts.

8. Bake 50–55 minutes until set.

9. Cool completely.

10. Whisk glaze ingredients and drizzle over loaf.
