Description

Soft, golden cinnamon roll shells baked in a muffin tin, filled with cinnamon apple pie filling, and drizzled with the icing from the can. An easy 3-ingredient dessert.

Ingredients

Scale

1 can refrigerated cinnamon rolls with icing (8 rolls)

1 1/2 cups canned apple pie filling

Nonstick cooking spray

Optional: chopped pecans, caramel sauce, or a pinch of cinnamon

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Spray 8 cups of a standard muffin tin generously with nonstick cooking spray.

2. Separate the cinnamon rolls and set the icing aside.

3. Flatten each roll with a rolling pin or your fingers into a round about 4 to 5 inches wide.

4. Press each flattened roll into a muffin cup, pushing it up the sides to form a shell.

5. Spoon about 3 tablespoons of apple pie filling into each cup. Cut any large apple slices into smaller pieces first.

6. Bake for 15 to 18 minutes, until the cups are golden brown.

7. Let the cups cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then loosen them with a knife and move them to a wire rack.

8. Drizzle with the icing from the can, warming it for a few seconds if it is too thick.

Notes

Based on the common muffin tin method from published recipes: flatten the rolls, press them into the tin, fill with apple pie filling, and bake until golden. Check the timing in your oven.

If your can has more rolls than muffin cups, use a second pan or bake the extras separately.
