Description

A rich, ultra-moist Chocolate Poke Cake soaked with gooey fudge sauce and sweetened condensed milk, then topped with creamy chocolate frosting and mini chocolate chips for the ultimate decadent dessert.

Ingredients

Scale

1 box (15.25 oz / 432 g) chocolate cake mix

Ingredients required on cake mix box (typically eggs, oil, water)

1 can (14 oz / 397 g) sweetened condensed milk

1 cup (240 g) hot fudge sauce

1 container (16 oz / 450 g) chocolate frosting

1 cup (170 g) mini chocolate chips

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and prepare a 9×13-inch baking pan.

2. Prepare the chocolate cake batter according to the instructions on the box.

3. Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.

4. Allow the cake to cool for 10 minutes after baking.

5. Using the handle of a wooden spoon, poke holes evenly across the entire cake.

6. In a bowl, mix the sweetened condensed milk and hot fudge sauce until smooth.

7. Pour the mixture evenly over the warm cake, letting it seep into the holes.

8. Allow the cake to cool completely, then refrigerate for at least 1 hour.

9. Spread chocolate frosting evenly over the chilled cake.

10. Top with mini chocolate chips and gently press them into the frosting.

11. Slice and serve chilled.

Notes

Poking the cake while it is still slightly warm helps the filling absorb better.

Refrigerating before frosting creates cleaner, defined layers.

This cake tastes even richer the next day as the fudge fully settles.

Store covered in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
