Description

This Ultimate Moist Chocolate Fudge Cake is rich, soft, and deeply chocolatey with a tender crumb and silky ganache topping. Made with simple ingredients and hot coffee for extra depth, it’s the perfect indulgent dessert.

Ingredients

Scale

For the cake:

1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour

2 cups granulated sugar

3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder

1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda

1 teaspoon salt

2 large eggs

1 cup whole milk

1/2 cup vegetable oil

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

1 cup hot coffee (or hot water)

For the chocolate ganache:

1 cup heavy cream

200g (about 1 1/4 cups) dark or semi-sweet chocolate, chopped

1 tablespoon butter (optional, for shine)

Optional:

Chocolate chips in batter

Fresh berries for serving

Whipped cream or ice cream

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan or two round pans

2. In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt

3. Add eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract, then mix until smooth

4. Slowly pour in hot coffee while mixing gently (batter will be thin)

5. Pour batter into prepared pan evenly

6. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes until a toothpick inserted comes out clean

7. Remove from oven and let cake cool completely

8. Heat heavy cream until hot but not boiling

9. Pour hot cream over chopped chocolate and let sit for 2 minutes

10. Stir until smooth and glossy, then mix in butter if using

11. Pour ganache over cooled cake and spread evenly

12. Let ganache set slightly before slicing and serving

Notes

Hot coffee enhances the chocolate flavor without tasting like coffee

The batter will be thin—this is normal and creates a moist cake

Use high-quality chocolate for best ganache results

Let cake cool fully before adding ganache to prevent melting
