Ingredients
½ cup unsalted butter, melted
1 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
⅓ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
½ cup all-purpose flour
¼ teaspoon baking powder
¼ teaspoon salt
½ cup unsalted butter, softened
½ cup brown sugar
¼ cup granulated sugar
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
½ teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon salt
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8 pan with parchment.
2. Make the brownie batter by whisking butter, sugar, eggs, vanilla, then add cocoa, flour, baking powder, and salt.
3. Make the cookie dough by creaming butter, sugars, egg, and vanilla, then fold in dry ingredients and chocolate chips.
4. Spread brownie batter into pan, then spoon cookie dough on top. Swirl gently.
5. Bake 30–35 minutes until set. Cool before slicing.
Notes
Don’t overbake—slightly underdone brownies mean fudgier results.
Customize by adding nuts, peanut butter, or white chocolate chips.
