Ingredients
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tbsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 tbsp sugar
1/2 cup cold unsalted butter (cubed)
3/4 cup cold milk or buttermilk
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking tray.
2. In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
3. Cut in cold butter until mixture becomes crumbly.
4. Slowly add milk and mix until just combined.
5. Fold dough gently for flaky layers.
6. Pat dough and cut into biscuits.
7. Place on tray and bake for 12–15 minutes until golden.
8. Brush with melted butter and serve warm.
Notes
Use very cold butter for best flaky texture.
Do not overmix the dough or biscuits will become dense.
Serve warm with butter, honey, or jam for best taste.
