Description

This Brownie Cake with Crisp Top is rich, fudgy, and deeply chocolatey with that iconic crackly top. A perfect easy dessert that combines the best of brownies and cake in one indulgent bite.


Ingredients

1 cup unsalted butter, melted

2 cups granulated sugar

4 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup all-purpose flour

3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup chocolate chips

Optional:

Chopped walnuts or pecans

Extra chocolate chunks

Vanilla ice cream for serving

Powdered sugar for dusting


Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC) and grease a 9ร—13-inch baking pan

2. In a large bowl, whisk together melted butter and sugar until glossy and smooth

3. Add eggs one at a time, whisking well after each addition to help create a crackly top

4. Stir in vanilla extract

5. In another bowl, combine flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt

6. Gradually fold dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined

7. Stir in chocolate chips evenly

8. Pour batter into prepared baking pan and smooth the top

9. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes until the top is set and slightly crackly

10. Remove from oven and let cool completely before slicing

11. Serve as is or with ice cream or whipped cream
