Description
Rich and tender brown sugar buttermilk pound cake with deep caramel flavor, buttery texture, and a soft moist crumb finished with warm brown sugar glaze.
Ingredients
Pound cake:
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
2 cups dark brown sugar
4 large eggs
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup buttermilk
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
Brown sugar glaze:
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons heavy cream
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

2. Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C)
3. Grease and flour a loaf pan or bundt pan
4. In a large bowl cream butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy
5. Add eggs one at a time mixing well after each addition
6. In another bowl whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt
7. Alternate adding dry ingredients and buttermilk into wet mixture
8. Stir in vanilla extract
9. Mix until batter is smooth but do not overmix
10. Pour batter into prepared pan and smooth top
11. Bake for 55–65 minutes until golden and toothpick comes out clean
12. Allow cake to cool for 15 minutes before removing from pan
13. For glaze add brown sugar, butter, and cream into saucepan
14. Heat until smooth and slightly thickened
15. Stir in vanilla extract
16. Drizzle glaze over cooled cake before serving

Use room temperature ingredients for best texture
Do not overmix batter or cake may become dense
Store covered at room temperature up to 3 days
Cake tastes even richer the next day
