Ingredients
8 tablespoons cold butter
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
3½ cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
6–7 tablespoons ice water
⅛ teaspoon cayenne pepper
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet.
2. Combine flour, salt, and cayenne, then cut in the butter until crumbly.
3. Mix in the shredded cheddar cheese.
4. Gradually add ice water until a dough forms.
5. Roll out the dough and cut into desired shapes.
6. Bake for 12–15 minutes until golden.
7. Cool slightly before serving.
Notes
Use freshly grated cheddar for the best flavor.
Keep the butter cold for flaky biscuits.
