Description
Soft and fluffy 5-minute bread that is warm, buttery, and unbelievably easy to make. Perfect for quick homemade sandwiches, toast, or serving fresh from the skillet while still warm.
Ingredients
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tbsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
3/4 cup milk or plain yogurt
2 tbsp melted butter or olive oil
1 tsp honey or sugar (optional)
Extra butter for brushing
Instructions
1. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and optional sugar.
2. Add milk or yogurt along with melted butter.
3. Mix until a soft dough forms. Do not overmix.
4. Transfer dough onto lightly floured surface and gently shape into a round loaf or divide into smaller flat rounds.
5. Heat a nonstick skillet over medium-low heat or preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
6. Cook bread in skillet for 4–5 minutes per side until golden and cooked through, or bake for 18–20 minutes until lightly golden.
7. Brush warm bread with melted butter before serving.
8. Slice and enjoy warm with butter, jam, cheese, or sandwiches.
Notes
Do not overmix the dough or bread may become dense.
Greek yogurt gives extra softness and flavor.
Add garlic powder, herbs, or shredded cheese for savory variations.
Best enjoyed fresh and warm.
Store leftovers tightly covered for up to 2 days.
