Description

Easy 20-Minute Homemade Bread made with simple pantry ingredients. This quick bread has a soft, tender center and lightly golden crust with no lengthy rising time.

Ingredients

Scale

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 tbsp baking powder

1/2 tsp salt

1 tsp sugar

3/4 cup warm water

2 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2. Combine the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar in a large mixing bowl.

3. Add the warm water and olive oil and stir until a soft dough forms.

4. Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and gently knead for 1–2 minutes.

5. Shape the dough into a round loaf and place it on the prepared baking sheet.

6. Score the top with a sharp knife if desired.

7. Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until lightly golden and cooked through.

8. Allow the bread to cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

Do not overmix the dough.

Use warm rather than very hot water.

Avoid adding too much flour, as this can make the bread dense.

Add herbs, garlic, or shredded cheese for extra flavor.

Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days.

The bread can be frozen for up to 1 month.
