Description
Warm Southern banana cobbler made with sweet caramelized bananas and a buttery cobbler topping.
Ingredients
4–5 ripe bananas sliced
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon lemon juice
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1/2 cup water
1 cup all purpose flour
1/3 cup sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup milk
1/4 cup melted butter
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F
2. Mix sliced bananas sugars cinnamon vanilla and lemon juice
3. Heat butter water and cornstarch until slightly thickened
4. Pour syrup over bananas
5. Whisk flour sugar baking powder and salt
6. Add milk and melted butter to form batter
7. Spread bananas in baking dish and pour batter over top
8. Bake 35–40 minutes until golden
Notes
Use very ripe bananas for the best sweetness
Serve warm with vanilla ice cream
Let cobbler rest 10 minutes before serving
