Description
Savory cheddar and herb cottage cheese scones that are fluffy, protein-packed, and perfect for snacks or as a cozy side.
Ingredients
1½ cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon dried herbs
¼ cup cold unsalted butter, cubed
¾ cup cottage cheese
1 large egg
¾ cup shredded cheddar cheese
2–3 tablespoons milk
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
2. Mix dry ingredients in a bowl.
3. Cut cold butter into flour mixture.
4. Stir in cottage cheese and egg.
5. Add milk as needed to form soft dough.
6. Fold in shredded cheddar.
7. Shape dough and cut into wedges.
8. Bake 18–22 minutes until golden.
Notes
Use cold butter.
Do not overmix.
Great with soup or salads.
