Description
Rustic baked chickpea buns that are golden outside, soft inside, and packed with protein. A quick no-knead savory bun ready in just 30 minutes.
Ingredients
1 ½ cups cooked chickpeas
1 egg
½ cup grated cheese
2 garlic cloves minced
¼ cup oat flour or whole wheat flour
½ tsp smoked paprika
½ tsp baking powder
salt and pepper
1 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 375°F and line baking tray with parchment paper
2. Blend chickpeas in food processor until thick paste forms
3. Transfer to bowl and mix egg cheese garlic flour paprika baking powder salt pepper and olive oil
4. Mix until thick dough forms
5. Scoop dough into small bun shapes and place on baking sheet
6. Bake 18 to 22 minutes until golden
7. Cool 5 minutes before serving
Notes
Drain chickpeas well to avoid excess moisture
Add herbs like parsley or thyme for extra flavor
Use sharp cheddar for deeper taste
Store in fridge up to 4 days
