Description

Soft Lemon Cream Cheese Coffee Cake with bright citrus flavor and creamy center.


Ingredients

Scale

2 cups flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup butter

1 cup sugar

2 eggs

1 tablespoon lemon zest

1/4 cup lemon juice

1 teaspoon vanilla

3/4 cup sour cream

For filling:

8 oz cream cheese

1/4 cup sugar

1 egg

1 tablespoon lemon juice


Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F.

2. Prepare cream cheese filling.

3. Cream butter and sugar.

4. Add eggs, lemon zest, juice, vanilla.

5. Fold in dry ingredients.

6. Layer batter and filling.

7. Bake 40–50 minutes.

8. Cool and glaze.

Notes

Optional blueberries.

Cool before slicing.

Store covered.
