Description
This rich German Chocolate Pound Cake is buttery, chocolatey, and topped with classic coconut-pecan frosting. Perfect for holidays or indulgent weekends.
Ingredients
1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
2 cups granulated sugar
4 large eggs
2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
½ cup cocoa powder
1 teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
1 cup buttermilk
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
For the frosting:
1 cup evaporated milk
1 cup sugar
3 egg yolks
½ cup butter
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup coconut
1 cup chopped pecans
Instructions
1. Cream butter and sugar until fluffy.
2. Add eggs one at a time.
3. Whisk flour, cocoa, baking powder, and salt.
4. Alternate adding dry ingredients with buttermilk. Stir in vanilla.
5. Pour into Bundt pan and bake 60–70 mins at 325°F.
6. Cook frosting ingredients until thickened, stir in coconut and pecans.
7. Spread frosting over cooled cake.
Notes
For extra indulgence, drizzle melted chocolate over the top before serving.
