Description
This easy caramel flan is silky, lightly set, and soaked in golden caramel sauce. A timeless dessert every pastry chef should know.
Ingredients
4 large eggs
½ cup granulated sugar
2 cups milk
1 tsp vanilla essence
Pinch of salt
6 tbsp sugar (for caramel)
Instructions
1. Melt sugar to make caramel and pour into mold.
2. Whisk eggs and sugar gently.
3. Warm milk and combine with eggs.
4. Add vanilla and salt, strain mixture.
5. Pour over caramel.
6. Bake in water bath at 325°F for 40–45 minutes.
7. Chill and unmold.
Notes
Do not overbake.
Chill fully before serving.
