1 cup sour cream

1/4 cup milk

For the Cinnamon Filling:

3/4 cup light brown sugar, packed

2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

For the Maple Frosting:

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

4 oz cream cheese, softened

2 cups powdered sugar

2 tablespoons pure maple syrup

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

12 tablespoons heavy cream

For the Pecan Topping:

3/4 cup chopped pecans, toasted

1 tablespoon brown sugar

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon


Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch pan.

2. Whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a bowl.

3. Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

4. Beat in eggs one at a time, then add vanilla.

5. Alternate adding dry ingredients with sour cream and milk until just combined.

6. Mix brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and melted butter for the filling.

7. Spread half the batter into the pan, add cinnamon filling, then top with remaining batter.

8. Bake for 40–45 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool completely.

9. Beat frosting ingredients until smooth and creamy.

10. Frost cooled cake and sprinkle with pecan topping before serving.
