Description
This moist, rich Chocolate Sheet Cake is baked in a 9×13 pan and topped with optional chocolate glaze. Easy to make, feeds a crowd, and perfect for gatherings.
Ingredients
2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour
2 cups (400g) granulated sugar
1 cup (120g) unsweetened cocoa powder
1 cup (240ml) hot water or brewed coffee
1 cup (240ml) whole milk or buttermilk
1 cup (240ml) vegetable oil or 225g melted butter
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13-inch pan.
2. Whisk together flour, sugar, and cocoa powder.
3. Stir in hot water (or coffee), milk, and oil until smooth.
4. Pour batter into prepared pan and bake for 30–35 minutes.
5. Cool before frosting or serving.
Notes
Swap milk for buttermilk for extra tang.
For deeper flavor, use brewed coffee instead of water.
Double the recipe for a large sheet pan.
