1 cup semisweet chocolate chips

1 cup granulated sugar

1/2 cup brown sugar, packed

4 large eggs

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

1/2 teaspoon salt

3/4 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 cup cocoa powder

1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)

1/2 cup mini chocolate chips for topping (optional)


Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9×13 inch pan with parchment paper.

2. Melt butter and chocolate chips over low heat until smooth.

3. In a bowl, whisk together granulated sugar, brown sugar, and eggs, one at a time, then add vanilla.

4. Combine chocolate mixture with sugar-egg mixture until smooth.

5. Fold in flour, cocoa powder, and salt gently.

6. Add nuts or chocolate chips if desired.

7. Pour batter into pan, smooth the top, and bake 25-30 minutes.

8. Cool completely before slicing into squares.
