Description

Quick and easy baked apple fritters filled with fresh apples and topped with a sweet vanilla glaze.


Ingredients

Scale

2 cups chopped apples peeled

1 cup all purpose flour

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/3 cup sugar

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 egg

1/3 cup milk

1 tablespoon melted butter

1 cup powdered sugar

2 tablespoons milk for glaze

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract for glaze


Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 375°F and line baking sheet with parchment paper

2. Peel and chop apples into small pieces

3. Whisk flour sugar baking powder cinnamon and salt

4. In another bowl mix egg milk vanilla and melted butter

5. Combine wet and dry ingredients

6. Fold in chopped apples

7. Scoop batter onto baking sheet

8. Bake for 14 to 16 minutes until golden

9. Mix powdered sugar milk and vanilla to make glaze

10. Drizzle glaze over warm fritters

Notes

Use firm apples like Granny Smith

Do not overmix batter

Glaze fritters while warm for best flavor
