Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

1 cup brown sugar

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup chopped apples (peeled and cored)

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

1 cup powdered sugar

2 tablespoons maple syrup

12 tablespoons milk


Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line a 9×13-inch pan.

2. Whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.

3. Whisk melted butter and brown sugar, then add eggs and vanilla.

4. Fold in apples, then add dry mixture to wet mixture until just combined.

5. Spread batter evenly in pan and bake 28–32 minutes.

6. Cool completely, then whisk powdered sugar, maple syrup, and milk for glaze. Drizzle on top.

Notes

Best served fresh with ice cream or coffee.

Use firm apples like Honeycrisp or Granny Smith.

Store at room temperature up to 3 days or freeze without glaze up to 2 months.
