Description

Amish Sugar Cookies are soft, buttery, old-fashioned cookies made with simple pantry ingredients. These classic cookies stay tender for days and are perfect for holidays, potlucks, or everyday baking.


Ingredients

1 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup vegetable oil

1 cup granulated sugar

1 cup powdered sugar

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

4ยฝ cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon cream of tartar

ยฝ teaspoon salt

ยผ cup milk


Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350ยฐF and line baking sheets.

2. Cream butter, oil, and sugars until fluffy.

3. Add eggs and vanilla.

4. Whisk dry ingredients separately.

5. Add dry ingredients alternating with milk.

6. Drop dough onto baking sheets.

7. Bake 10โ€“12 minutes until just set.

Notes

Do not overbake.

Cookies should remain pale.
