Ingredients
5 Weet‑Bix crushed
1½ cups plain flour
2 tsp baking powder
2 tbsp cocoa
¾ cup desiccated coconut
1 cup sugar
1 tbsp golden syrup
200g margarine
1 tsp vanilla essence
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 180°C and line a 20 cm tin.
2. Mix crushed Weet‑Bix, flour, baking powder, cocoa, coconut, sugar.
3. Melt margarine and golden syrup, then stir in vanilla.
4. Combine wet and dry ingredients and press into tin.
5. Bake for 20‑25 minutes until set, cool slightly.
6. Ice as desired, slice into pieces.
Notes
Crush Weet‑Bix to a mix of fine and coarse for best texture.
Press mixture firmly for clean slices.
Use butter instead of margarine for richer flavor.
