Ingredients
-
1 ripe mango, peeled and diced 🥭
-
3 cloves garlic, minced 🧄
-
2 tbsp honey 🍯
-
1 tbsp soy sauce
-
1 tbsp rice vinegar
-
1 tbsp lime juice 🍋
-
½ tsp chili flakes (adjust to desired spice level) 🌶️
-
¼ tsp ground ginger (or 1-inch piece fresh ginger, grated)
-
¼ tsp salt 🧂
-
¼ tsp black pepper
-
¼ cup water (to adjust consistency, if needed)
Instructions
-
Blend the ingredients – In a blender or food processor, combine mango, garlic, honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, lime juice, chili flakes, ginger, salt, and black pepper. Blend until smooth, adding water as needed to reach desired consistency.
-
Simmer for depth of flavor – Transfer the blended mixture to a small saucepan over medium heat. Let it simmer for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until slightly thickened.
-
Adjust & taste – Taste the sauce and adjust the seasoning as needed. Add more chili flakes for heat, extra lime juice for tang, or a touch of honey for extra sweetness.
-
Cool & serve – Remove from heat and let the sauce cool. It will thicken slightly as it cools. Serve as a dipping sauce, drizzle, or marinade!
Notes
-
If using frozen mango, thaw and drain excess liquid before blending.
-
For a thicker sauce, reduce water or simmer for an extra 2-3 minutes.
-
To make it spicier, add extra chili flakes or a dash of hot sauce.
-
This sauce pairs perfectly with grilled chicken, shrimp, tofu, or roasted veggies!
