Description
This Sweet Potato Pie with Condensed Milk is a creamy, spiced Southern favorite that’s perfect for the holidays or any day you’re craving comfort. Made with real sweet potatoes, sweetened condensed milk, and warm spices, it’s a foolproof recipe that’s been passed around my family table for generations.
Ingredients
2 cups mashed sweet potatoes
1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon allspice
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 (9-inch) unbaked pie crust
Instructions
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Roast sweet potatoes until tender. Cool, peel, and mash. Reduce oven temperature to 350°F (175°C). Place pie crust in a 9-inch pie pan. In a bowl, combine mashed sweet potatoes and melted butter until smooth. Add condensed milk, eggs, vanilla, sugar, allspice, and salt. Mix until well combined. Pour filling into pie crust. Bake for 50-60 minutes until center is set. Cool completely before serving.
Notes
You can prep the sweet potatoes a day ahead and store them in the fridge.
Don’t substitute evaporated milk for condensed milk—it won’t be sweet enough!
Want to make it extra fancy? Add a dollop of cinnamon whipped cream on top.
