Description
These Old-Fashioned Pumpkin Bars with Cream Cheese Frosting are moist, warmly spiced, and topped with rich cream cheese frosting. A cozy fall dessert perfect for gatherings.
Ingredients
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
1/2 tsp ground ginger
1/4 tsp ground cloves
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1 cup vegetable oil
4 large eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 (15 oz) can pumpkin puree
8 oz cream cheese
1/2 cup unsalted butter
2 cups powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC). Grease a 9ร13-inch baking pan or line with parchment paper.
2. Whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, cloves, and salt.
3. In a large bowl, beat together granulated sugar, brown sugar, and oil. Add eggs, vanilla, and pumpkin puree.
4. Fold in dry ingredients until just combined.
5. Pour into pan and bake 25โ30 minutes, until toothpick comes out clean. Let cool.
6. Beat cream cheese and butter until creamy. Add powdered sugar and vanilla, beat until fluffy. Frost cooled bars.
Notes
Store covered in refrigerator up to 5 days.
Freeze unfrosted bars for up to 2 months.
