Ingredients
Scale
- 4 cod fillets (4–6 ounces each)
- 4 tbsp butter, melted
- 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- 1 lemon, sliced (optional, for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and lightly grease a baking dish.
- Pat the cod fillets dry with paper towels to help them absorb the flavors.
- Make the lemon butter sauce by mixing melted butter, lemon juice, garlic, paprika, salt, and pepper in a small bowl.
- Coat the cod by brushing or spooning the sauce over each fillet. Arrange the fillets in the baking dish and top with optional lemon slices.
- Bake for 12–15 minutes or until the fish is opaque and flakes easily with a fork. Internal temperature should be 145°F (63°C).
- Garnish with fresh parsley and serve immediately with your favorite sides!
Notes
- If using frozen cod, ensure it’s fully thawed and patted dry before baking.
- For extra flavor, zest the lemon before juicing and add it to the butter mixture.
- Substitute butter with olive oil or ghee for a dairy-free version.
- Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
