A moist and tender date and orange almond loaf sweetened with fruit and brown sugar. Finished with a citrus glaze and perfect for cozy breakfasts or gifts.
Ingredients
150g chopped dates
180ml orange juice
1/2 tsp baking soda
115g butter
100g brown sugar
2 eggs
Zest of 1 orange
1 tsp vanilla
100g almond flour
100g all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp cinnamon (optional)
60g sliced almonds
Optional Glaze:
60g powdered sugar
1–2 tbsp orange juice
Zest for garnish
Instructions

Simmer dates and juice, stir in soda, let cool.

Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease and line loaf pan.

Cream butter and sugar. Beat in eggs, zest, vanilla.

Mix flours, powder, salt, and cinnamon. Combine wet and dry.

Fold in date mixture and almonds. Pour into pan, top with extra almonds.

Bake 40–50 mins. Cool, then glaze if using.
Notes
For extra richness, use orange blossom honey in the glaze. Toast almonds for more flavor.
