Classic Danish butter cookies—crisp, buttery, and melt‑in‑your‑mouth sweet!
Ingredients
1 cup (227 g) unsalted butter, room temperature
2/3 cup (80 g) powdered sugar
1 large egg, room temperature
1 1/2 cups (190 g) all‑purpose flour
1/4 cup (30 g) cornstarch
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 tsp salt
Instructions
1. Cream butter and sugar until fluffy
2. Beat in egg and vanilla
3. Whisk flour, cornstarch, salt; add and mix until combined
4. Chill dough if needed
5. Pipe or drop cookies onto sheet
6. Bake at 350°F (175°C) 10–12 min
7. Cool then store in airtight container
Notes
Chill dough before piping for neater shapes.
Cookies crisp as they cool—resist eating right off the pan!
Dough can be made ahead or frozen.
