These Cornmeal Biscuits are soft, golden, and buttery with a subtle corn flavor and fluffy interior—perfect for breakfast or dinner.
Ingredients
1 cup white flour
½ cup whole wheat flour
½ cup yellow cornmeal
2 tbsp sugar
2½ tsp baking powder
¾ tsp salt
½ tsp baking soda
5 tbsp chilled butter
1 large egg
1 cup plain low-fat or nonfat yogurt
Instructions
Preheat oven to 400°F. Mix dry ingredients.
Cut in cold butter until crumbly.
Stir in egg and yogurt until dough forms.
Pat and cut into rounds.
Bake 12–15 minutes until golden brown.
Notes
Keep ingredients cold for best rise. Don’t overmix. Serve warm!
