Ingredients
8 tablespoons butter, diced
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
3–1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
6 to 7 tablespoons water
1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
2. In a bowl, mix flour, salt, and cayenne.
3. Cut in butter until crumbly.
4. Fold in cheddar cheese.
5. Add water gradually until dough forms.
6. Roll out and cut into rounds.
7. Bake on a lined sheet for 8–10 minutes until golden.
Notes
Use block cheddar for best melt.
Keep butter cold for flakiness.
Add a pinch more cayenne for heat.
