Description
Soft, fluffy cinnamon rolls filled with spiced apple pie filling and gooey cinnamon sugar, topped with optional cream cheese glaze. The ultimate fall treat!
Ingredients
Dough: 2 ¼ tsp yeast, 1 cup warm milk, ½ cup sugar, ¼ cup butter, 1 tsp vanilla, 2 eggs, 4 cups flour, 1 tsp salt
Apple Filling: 2 apples, ½ cup brown sugar, 1 tsp cinnamon, ¼ tsp nutmeg, 1 tbsp butter, 1 tbsp flour
Cinnamon Sugar: 1 cup brown sugar, 2 tbsp cinnamon, ¼ cup butter
Glaze (optional): 4 oz cream cheese, 2 tbsp butter, ½ cup powdered sugar, 1–2 tbsp milk, ½ tsp vanilla
Instructions
Bloom yeast in warm milk. Add sugar, butter, vanilla, and eggs. Mix in flour and salt. Knead and let rise. Cook apple filling. Roll dough, spread cinnamon sugar and apples, roll up and slice. Let rise again. Bake at 175°C for 25–30 mins. Glaze warm rolls if desired.
Notes
Use tart apples for balance. Slice rolls cleanly with floss. Chill overnight for easy morning baking.
