Ingredients

2 Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored, and finely diced

1 cup all-purpose flour

½ cup granulated sugar

½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted

1 large egg

1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line an 8×8-inch baking pan.

In a bowl, whisk melted butter, sugar, egg, and vanilla until smooth.

Stir in flour to form a thick batter.

Fold in diced apples.

Spread batter evenly in pan.

Bake 30–35 minutes, or until golden and a toothpick comes out mostly clean.

Cool in pan for 10 minutes, then slice into bars.
